SNEB and Japanese Society of Nutrition and Dietetics begin collaboration

Posted by: on Thursday October 13, 2016

Dear SNEB Members:

We are proud to announce that our effort to achieve SNEB’s strategic vision of building collaborations with organizations promoting healthy communities, food systems, and behaviors in order to grow and maintain a dynamic Society serving the field of nutrition education around the world has been realized as SNEB has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Japanese Society of Nutrition and Dietetics (JSND). We had the honor and pleasure of meeting with Yukari Takemi, PhD, RD, President of JSND while at the Annual Conference in San Diego to finalize the scope of the agreement. The two organizations have agreed to share information and cross promote our respective annual conferences.

This is the third international MOU SNEB has signed this year. Immediate Past President Suzanne Piscopo facilitated agreements with both the International Foundation of Mediterranean Diet (IFMED) and the International Federation of Home Economics (IFHE).

We have also re-signed our MOU with the Korean Society of Community Nutrition (KSCN), a relationship which began in 2011. KSCN President, Dr. Yong Ok Kim, was bestowed the SNEB President’s Award this year to recognize her leadership in developing the first agreement and building a strong partnership between our organizations.  We frequently welcome a large contingent of KSCN members to the annual conference, not only as attendees, but also as providers of educational content.

Mary Murimi, PhD. RD, SNEB President
