What is the SNEB Fellows Program?

The SNEB Fellows designation is a prestigious honor awarded to distinguished members who have demonstrated exceptional achievements in the field of nutrition education and behavior. Fellows are celebrated for their service, dedication, and impact on public health.

  • Entitlement to use the FSNEB designation in credentials
  • Recognition as a Fellow of SNEB on the SNEB website and in JNEB
  • Use of the FSNEB logo
  • A Fellow of SNEB certificate
  • A toolkit to promote FSNEB status to employers and local press

How Much Does It Cost?

  • A one time fee of $150 is due upon acceptance

Eligibility Criteria

Membership

Nominees must be current members of SNEB and have maintained active membership for a minimum of five consecutive years.

Professional Experience

Nominees should have at least ten years of professional experience in the field of nutrition education and behavior.

Contributions

Demonstrated significant contributions to the field through research, practice, policy, or education. This may include published research, development of educational programs, influential policy work, or other relevant accomplishments.

Leadership

Evidence of leadership within the profession, such as holding key positions within SNEB, other professional organizations, academic institutions, or public health initiatives. Leadership roles may include serving on boards, committees, task forces, or as an advisor or consultant.

Recognition and Awards

Previous recognition of professional achievements, such as awards, honors, or other forms of professional acknowledgment from reputable organizations or institutions.

Service to SNEB

Active participation and service within SNEB, including involvement in committees, special interest groups, annual conference presentations, or other contributions that support the Society’s mission and goals.

Mentorship and Education

Commitment to mentoring and educating the next generation of nutrition educators and practitioners. Evidence of mentoring students, early-career professionals, or colleagues in the field.

Professional Conduct

Adherence to high ethical standards and professionalism, contributing to the positive reputation and integrity of the nutrition education and behavior field.

How to Apply

The application process is simple:

  1. Submit your application by January 31 each year.
  2. Provide supporting letters from a current SNEB member and a professional within the field.
  3. Applications are reviewed by the SNEB Executive Committee. SNEB will accept up to 10 fellows per year.
  4. Recognition happens at the Annual Conference.
