Spring Journal Club: Cultural Adaptation and Social Media Promotion of Healthy Eating Guides for Spanish Speakers

April 3, 2023 at 12 pm ET

We will present the reach of social media dissemination of a culturally-adapted evidence-based Kid’s Healthy Eating Plate to Spanish-speaking Latinos. Using adaptation frameworks and protocols, as well as reach metrics, is essential to demonstrate cultural appropriateness and social media engagement. We demonstrate that culturally-adapted healthy eating guidelines for Spanish-speaking children were worldwide after paid social media promotion, which may help close the digital divide and promote health literacy in diverse populations.
