About the Webinar

Sugar-sweetened beverage behavior is rooted in various social and environment factors. In this presentation, we will explore these factors related to consumption within the Latinx population. Further, we will discuss the role of culture and identity around consumption within the context the the Cultural Capital Framework.

About the Presenters

Diana Cuy Castellanos, PhD, RDN, University of Dayton
Diana Cuy Castellanos PhD, RDN has worked with the Latinx population for almost 20 years. Her research resides in the area of dietary acculturation and behavior and food systems. She earned her PhD from the University of Southern Mississippi in 2011 and is currently an associate professor at the University of Dayton in Ohio. Further, she is a mother of two children and enjoys baking and being outdoors.

Beth Miller, PhD, RD, LD, Miami University
Beth Miller is a professor at Miami University in Ohio where she is an active researcher and instructor. Dr. Miller's research focuses on community nutrition and health, specifically in low-income and diverse populations. She utilizes Community-based Participatory Research to identify nutrition-related challenges and inform intervention development and implementation in communities. Currently, she is a co-investigator on a National Institute of Health funded project.
