Being Healthy is DINE’s Responsibility

World Food Day is an international day celebrated every year worldwide to honor the founding of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Other organizations also mark the day by highlighting issues surrounding food security. The Division of International Nutrition Education (DINE) recognizes this day through programs and activities to educate individuals on how they can change simple habits to make a difference in the world. Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, World Food Day 2020 will be a virtual, but interactive celebration. Join us as we welcome international and national experts to share their views about the impact COVID has had on food distribution.

World Food Day is organized to bring awareness to how our changing planet affects food production and distribution.

Each country has its own definition of a healthy diet and ways to group their foods. Have you ever seen a food pyramid or a healthy plate? This can change depending on what foods are available, and nutrition problems in each country.

Let’s look up food-based dietary guidelines on the FAO website and see if we can find what a healthy diet or healthy eating means for countries represented on DINE Executive Team to publish.
