| Description: | The SNAP materials were produced through a collaboration of FNS agencies with a common goal of increasing vegetable consumption among the low-income population. Materials on 18 different vegetables have been produced (all vegetables are seasonally available and low-cost in PA).Each vegetable has information in a variety of complementary formats. The newsletter is the most comprehensive of the formats. The materials are written at approximately a 4-6 grade reading level (with some more "scientific" information in the newsletter at a 9th grade reading level). All materials are in full-color with realistic photo images; black and white versions of the newsletter are under production. The newsletters are currently being translated into Spanish. An outcome evaluation of the materials is also currently underway. |
